Atheists, is it right to suspend an 8 year old just because he drew a picture of Jesus on the Cross?

This is an old story. The kid is in some kind of "special" cl It wasn't the picture he drew but the comments he made to the teacher about the drawing. The parents were asked to get their child evaluated before he returned to school. He wasn't "suspended" If only the Columbine school had been as proactive. There is a great deal of controversy as well because the picture being shown about the media is probably not the picture the boy drew in school which caused the teacher to question him. Also I believe the parents have requested money from the school district . Sounds too suspiciously like another balloon boy story. One would be hard pressed to actually find a christian who was really persecuted for their religious beliefs in any country where christianity is a majority religion.
