Why does the neighbor's donkey bray every single morning as soon as it gets light?

Every donkey I know brays in the morning for breakfast. My in-laws had one and if it saw a light go on in the house, even if it was still dark, it would start up. They used to crawl on the floor to start the coffee in the morning so as not to set off the donkey. He wouldn't stop until he got fed. Either your neighbor runs out and feeds him so it ends quickly or you are very lucky. Our in-laws found a new home for theirs quickly.
