Ok so I was at a hotel while criss angel was there and i watched him walk across the hotel pool.?

How the heck do you pull this one off? At first i thought it had to do something with his shoes and then half way through he kicked them off. Note we were out in an open area with nothing to attach wires to can someone explain this one.
