I feel like my hands are too small for my guitar... is there actually something wrong?

I just don't know what the issue is. i think i just have really small fat fingers. I have a fender strat. I cant play an A chord for the life of me. And sometimes i try to play a chord, and a string sounds muted. I look at what the issue is, and of course, some finger is where it doesnt need to be. I've tried different grips, different angles, and i just cant get a clean enough sound for anything... what gives?
