Got caught by a speed camera doing 47 in a 40 limit but my driving license is out of date! What do i do? (UK)?

Those who fail to renew their licenses are allowed to continue driving but the DVLA says they could be charged with a £1,000 fine for ‘failing to surrender their license’.
