There is this movie i can't think of... ?

all i can remember is it starts out with a man waking up on a snowy morning, and has a knock on the door. its a woman who i believe is his neighbor checking up on him. i think the main character has some sort of mental problem or something. i know this isn't much detail, but thats all i can remember about it. its not a old movie, i know that. help ?
