Can you punctuate my little paragraph?

A young female or a child as the main character is one of the conventions of Gothic literature. The purpose of having a young female or a child as the main character is that the readers will believe that the character is innocent and gullible. As a result the readers will feel sympathy towards the character and their subsequent sufferings. The main character (who is also the narrator) of ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ is a young female. The narrator asks the question, “But what is one to do?” with the intention of convincing the readers that she is helpless. The helplessness of the narrator is a reflection of the inequality women faced during the time, the society’s altitude towards women and the unsuccessful relationship Charlotte Perkins Gilman and her husband had.
