Altitude and Weather:Which is more important in heating a location: amount of daylight or sun altitude? Why? ?

You might be confusing altitude with latitude. The sun heats the equator more because the rays of light hit it more directly while in the poles it hits it in an angle. There are other reasons why the poles are colder, because for example, during the summer, the north pole is light all day and it still is not not as hot as in the equator.
